Christian Fellowship – Give us Purpose
Prayer: Father God, I bow in Your Presence this morning knowing that all the angels and saints are shouting out their own praises -- as together we thankfully praise You. All around me You have placed people of God who are being prepared to speak the truth with a power they are only now coming to understand. You have been refining and purifying many so they would be prepared to take their proper places in Your army of believers.

I know Lord, we are only in the preparation stages, but even here I sense a great new awakening on the horizon. Everywhere around me I see people who have surrendered to Your call and are now being prepared by You to take their places. I know Your goal is to spread joy and peace, holiness and pure motivations to people who are lost and adrift and are about to drown if not rescued.

I also praise You, my King, that Your Word is going down deep into the marrow of our bones, and we are becoming kingdom--significant people who are willing to walk the walk we talk. So many of Your kids desire only to serve You -- they are hungry and thirsty for Your truth to go down deeper than ever, and they yearn to be used by You to break down the darkness that is everywhere. I praise You, my King for the love I see expressed every day in the brothers and sisters with whom I serve. They are witnesses for me that help me to stay strong and persevere, and I know You have sent them to walk alongside me as You knew I would need them -- even before I did!

Lord, I pray today for this generation to be the generation that walks so closely with You that their light cannot be denied as they exhibit Your grace and mercy -- Your love and compassion -- Your heart for the widows and prisoners and those that are lost. I am asking You, Lord, to shine Your light on them so others will be drawn to them.

I know in my heart, Lord Jesus, that I am walking in the midst of people who love You dearly and choose to lay it all down for the sake of Your kingdom causes. I know in my heart that You desire Your will being done on the earth, right now, as it is in heaven, and You are doing that in those with eyes to see and ears to hear. I know in my heart You have given us to each other for sustenance and strength, and that as we join together, You allow us to walk alongside of You -- which is the greatest treasure of all.

I bow my head right now, Lord, asking You to release a holy passion in Your church that will begin the process of healing and restoration for those who are being held in the bondage of despair and discouragement. I pray, Lord, that people will become so hungry for You, for Your Word and Your ways, that they will willingly lay down anything that has become a stumbling block to the renewed life of passion which You make available to all believers.

Fill us all, Jesus, with hearts of worship and turn our thoughts and lives to Your wavelength. Get us all on the same path so we can begin the journey of our own lifetime. Help those who are hesitant to take the first steps of faith to find the courage they need to take it. Change Your kids into Your image and give them Your eyes to see and Your ears to hear. Increase their understanding of Your truths and Your ways so they will have the courage they need to persevere. I worship You, my King, and dedicate my life to Your ways – use me and all who choose to pray this prayer. Start us out on our own journey right now, and grant us Your bright light to guide and direct our steps. May all we do bring You the honor and the glory!

Reflect: It is not an accident that you are praying this prayer. God is drawing all of us to Himself, and for those with His heart, who worship Him with their lives, He guarantees a life of kingdom -- significance that you probably cannot even imagine right now. Spend some time with Him and keep your journal handy so you can keep a record of your impressions. It will probably not make complete sense to you right now, but in His timing -- if you are faithful and spend time with Him -- the clouds will clear, and You will recognize the hand of our God on your life.
