Nature Poems

Nature Poems
The beautiful world in which we live has been inspiration to poets for centuries. Nature poems are the result of the poet taking in the beauty that surrounds them and sharing it with us, the reader.

While you enjoy these nature poems, take time to remember the magnificent beauty that surrounds you.

Roaring Fork
Our family’s favorite place to hike is in the Great Smoky Mountains of Tennessee. We’ve camped in Elkmont Campground on many occasions. It has become a Cain family tradition of going to the Noah Bud Ogle homestead and walking back to the Roaring Fork. It’s a beautiful and peaceful place.

Lord, I feel so close to You
As I sit beside this stream
Your glorious works amaze me
I can almost hear You it seems

Your voice cries out from here
“I created all of this for you”
The sound of water rushing by
Is evidence of all You do

Your majestic splendor shows
In places such as this
How mighty are Your works
That so many people miss

Thank You for this moment
Where I can reflect on You
Thank You for the rushing stream
My quiet place for retreating to

Day Birth
By Jeff Norberg

A crystalline lake, its surface like glass, shines with the reflection of the moon.
Flowers begin blooming and birds begin chirping over a meadow fresh with morning dew.

Peace reigns over the valley as morning slowly awakes.
The only sound is a breeze’s whisper as it makes the trees gently shake.

In the middle of the stillness, a lone cabin sits, awaiting the coming of the sun,
When the life inside it will begin to stir and acknowledge that the new day has begun.

Across the hills the sun peeks through, chasing the darkness out of sight.
Light will reign and brighten the earth, then again be replaced by night.

The peaceful sounds of nature, which have been singing their continuous song,
Are joined in a chorus of harmony, by those creatures just awakening and wishing to sing along.

As we pass through the millennium and the future rushes on,
We must not forget the simple pleasures of nature’s simple song.

It is a melody that because of our lives can rush right past our ear,
But is as beautiful as any symphony once we just stop and hear.

The tides of this world will always keep changing in our vast technological sea,
But the beauty of nature’s chorus, is a constant harmony that forever and always will be.

Coquina Beach Sunsets
I grew up on the west coast of Florida. I love to walk the beach at sunset! Psalm 143:5 - “I remember the days of old; I meditate on all Your doings; I ponder the work of Your hands.”

As the sun sets, Lord
I thank You for this day
I praise You for the blessings
That You brought my way

The color of the sky above
Displays Your mighty hand
Thank You for this blessing
I see from where I stand

May tomorrow be Yours
Guide me in Your will
Keep me safe from harm
Give me time to “be still”

Time to count my blessings
Gifts from Heaven above
Gifts like this sunset, Lord
Are designed by You with love

North Carolina Waterfalls
One of our favorite drives is through North Carolina’s waterfall country. I could sit at the base of a waterfall for hours. I’m simply mesmerized by God’s creations.

Proverbs 18:4 - “The words of a [discreet and wise] man's mouth are like deep waters [plenteous and difficult to fathom], and the fountain of skillful and godly Wisdom is like a gushing stream [sparkling, fresh, pure, and life-giving].”

Lord, I sit upon this fallen log
And gaze at what’s ahead
Sights such as this are living proof
You are very much alive and not dead

Your creation Lord is evidence enough
That You hold the earth in Your grip
Every changing, ever evolving
As You control every water’s drip

I praise You Lord for beautiful sights
That are truly a gift from You
Blessing upon blessing You bestow
From the storehouse of all You do

Hidden away among the mighty oaks
Is this treasure for me to find
I sit here and contemplate on You
My God so gentle, so loving, so kind

What do you think?
We have all sinned and deserve God’s judgment. God, the Father, sent His only Son to satisfy that judgment for those who believe in Him. Jesus, the creator and eternal Son of God, who lived a sinless life, loves us so much that He died for our sins, taking the punishment that we deserve, was buried, and rose from the dead according to the Bible. If you truly believe and trust this in your heart, receiving Jesus alone as your Savior, declaring, "Jesus is Lord," you will be saved from judgment and spend eternity with God in heaven.

What is your response?

Yes, I want to follow Jesus

I am a follower of Jesus

I still have questions

How can I know God?
