Step of Faith – Stepping into your calling
Prayer: My King, what a privilege and responsibility it is to know that You are indeed my King, and I am Yours to command. How often I find myself completely astounded that the greatest person who ever lived chooses to call me His own -- and even more astonishing -- allows me to work and live for Him and for His purposes on the earth. I ask you often, Jesus, to help me understand just why You would choose me, as I know You can see every flaw, every shortcoming, and every act of disobedience. Yet in spite of who I am, You have made it clear that You use who You choose. It’s almost as if I hear You saying to stop wondering why -- and just accept it and get on with it.

Many of us, Lord, are imprisoned and frightened to step out into our true calling -- and for a wide variety of reasons. We have many excuses. We are generally very reluctant to give up our own comforts and step out into the unknown, oftentimes unmapped waters. Yet clearly it is Your desire for Your kids to trust that You do what You say You do -- and we can stake our lives on that Word of truth. You never call us without providing a way -- and although You often give us just enough to take a single step of faith -- it is that one step of faith that begins our journey down a path towards a destiny we could never have possibly seen before we took that first step.

I am so grateful, Jesus, that today You are still the same as You were in times past, and that as I study and learn more about Your ways and Your Word, my strength and determination to keep moving forward grows. I pray today for all who would read this prayer that they would come to see the opportunities You have provided for their own lives. I pray they would realize there is a call on their lives, put there by God Himself, and that as they give up their own plans and dreams and surrender to Yours, You would change their lives into a life of fulfillment and purpose. I pray they will become hungry and thirsty for what You have for them, and that Your light of truth will shine brightly into their spirits, and they will become warriors for the cause of Christ.

I pray You would give us all courage and perseverance to take the small baby steps of faith so vital to our growth so we can become the people You speak about in Your Word, who are on the front lines of battle willing to risk whatever is necessary to take back the darkness that has been stolen. I pray You will give each one of us Your vision of purpose beyond our own human abilities to understand so we will have the strength we need to help shed the light of truth into our families, churches, and countries.

Thank You, my King, that our lives can be the difference between life and death for someone else, and that You give us all we need to help us help others. Thank You that every time I pick up a pen and begin to write Your prayer, I know without any doubt that You will impact someone by that prayer.

I know beyond any doubt that every one of us has a calling on our lives, and that if we will just take that one step of faith, we will find our own purpose. Help my brothers and sisters to find their own path as they pray today so that this final quest we are all on will become clearer. Thank You, Jesus, for each and every person who prays, and thank You, Jesus, for their presence in my own life as they serve to me as witnesses of what You came to accomplish where You willingly took the cross and gave ALL You had for us.

May all we do bring You the honor and glory!

Step of Faith – Making it Personal
Reflect: We are living in exciting times where many opportunities are given every day to make a difference for the cause of Christ. If you are unable to see these opportunities clearly, I would encourage you to spend some time alone talking with God about Your specific purpose. If you take the time to listen, He will one day give you an assignment. When you have taken that step of faith, He will accompany you on your daily walk and impact your life and the lives of your family, friends, and the world around you in ways you can’t possibly imagine right now. Remember, it begins with one simple step of faith. Don’t miss the greatest adventure available -- service in the army of God.
